Thursday marked the ONE MONTH til our Christmas break! It is hard to believe that we are already at the middle of this time. We are all very excited for this break… It is amazing how God knows exactly waht we need and when we need it. In some ways it will be difficult to leave our friends here for one month but that always means that comming back will be just as sweet as returning home for a short time.
Yesterday we went to El Campos (the neighborhood we visit) and there is a family there we have visited lots …. the mom’s name is Concha and she is WONDERFUL!! Yesterday it was a random cold day (somewhat normal here) and so she insisted on driving us home and so we got to show her around the church and it was so nice to share our home with her because of how much she has shared her home and family with us. Her joy constantly encourages me and gives me reason to be here. She has been asking a lot of questions about why we are the way we are….. such as why we dont try to “convert” her.. because thats what her friends joke about to her about us…. but she always replies that we dont … we just want to spend time with her… which is of course the truth. It is so awesome to share the gospel with those we meet but Im learning constantly that the gospel IS A RELATIONSHIP.. ultimately to portray who JESUS is is to build a relationship just has he did and begin discipling and most of all LOVING them no matter what their reaction to our beliefs are. Concha is amazing and im so grateful for every time that I had hanging out with her… if only she didnt talk so fast! haha! Im learning a lot from her!!
